We aim to answer all enquiries as soon as possible, and within a maximum of 2 working days.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

 

If we need to cancel

 

Harbour Workshops reserve the right to cancel our classes or courses.

If we need to cancel a full course/one-off day course before it starts:

  • we will notify you with an email, text/WhatsApp message or phone call, with at least 7 days’ notice;

  • we will offer you the option of a full refund, or credit to use against other courses or classes.

​

Once a course has begun, if we need to cancel an individual session (for example because of tutor illness) we will:

  • contact you by 9am on the day of the class, or earlier if possible, by email, text/WhatsApp or phone call;

  • discuss available compensation options with you. This could include free workshop time, an additional end-of-term ‘make-up’ session, or credit to use against other courses.

Please ensure you provide us with the right contact information at the time of booking, to ensure we have up-to-date contact details for you.

If you need to cancel, or cannot attend a class

​

Once you have booked on to a course or class, the following policies apply.
 

If you would like to cancel a full course or one-off class before it starts:

  • For cancellations more than two weeks in advance, we will offer you space on another weekly class (if available) during the same term; full credit to the same value against a future class; or a refund of your fees minus a 10% administrative charge.

  • For cancellations less than two weeks in advance, we will offer you space on another weekly class (if available) during the same term; credit towards a future booking minus a 10% administrative charge, or a refund of 50% of your fees.

If you cannot attend an individual session of a weekly class you have booked on to, for example because of unexpected illness or other commitments, this does not provide the right to a refund, credit or additional class access, though we will try to accommodate this where reasonable.

 

FEES AND MATERIALS
 

The course fees cover tuition, use of studio and equipment, except where otherwise stated (for example, workshop drop-in sessions do not include taught tutor time).
 

Tools, materials and a limited amount of base metal are supplied for our courses, but precious metals and gems etc will need to be bought by students. If this is the case a materials list will be discussed, and suppliers recommended. 
 

Please speak to the tutor before purchasing any precious metals, to avoid potentially costly mistakes (and make full use of class discounts!).
 

We may offer small quantities of metals for purchase by students, to enable timely progress on individual projects. This is subject to the tutor’s full discretion. Any materials supplied will be charged at the current market rate plus a small administrative fee (roughly 20%) to cover losses, and will need to be paid for on the day of the class.

 

CONDUCT AND BEHAVIOUR
 

We aim to provide a safe space for all students, in which everyone is treated with kindness and respect. We welcome diverse experiences and perspectives. 
 

We have zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination or hate speech. Any student who is verbally abusive, or exhibits behaviour which makes fellow students or staff feel unsafe will be withdrawn immediately with no refund given.
 

If you witness potentially harmful behaviour, you should alert the course tutor.
 

To ensure the safety of students and staff alike, it is not permitted to come to classes under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If we feel this is the situation, we will ask the person to leave the class immediately. The student will then be withdrawn from the course with no refund given.

COURSE LEVEL
 

Some courses require previous experience. Please ensure that the course you have booked is suited to your level of experience.
 

If you have any doubts regarding your level of technical or physical ability, you must contact us first before you make your booking.
 

We are not responsible for any issues arising from booking on a course which is too advanced, or not advanced enough for the course attendee. In these cases, the standard cancellation policy applies. 

 

STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
 

We welcome students with disabilities, however please contact us before booking on a course to ensure that it is right for your particular needs.
 

The Cube is wheelchair-accessible. 


PERSONAL INFORMATION

Our full Privacy Policy is outlined on our website. We will use the personal information that you provide:

  • to administer and provide our courses to you

  • to process payment in relation to any enrolment

  • to inform you about similar courses and other services that we provide
     

We will not give your personal data to any third party. You have the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

We may wish to use photographs, artwork and audio-visual media containing your image or likeness in our marketing and promotional materials. We will ask for your explicit consent before taking any such photos or videos, and you have full rights to opt out.

Copyright in any photographs or audio-visual media containing your image or likeness shall belong to Harbour Workshops and shall not entitle you to receive any royalties or other payments.
